AI race engineer

AI race engineer for RaceRoom

We've driven RaceRoom Racing Experience: we tested it on track on 13 October 2026. The engineer tells you your position and the gap to rivals, your times and where you lose time, and leaves out what the game doesn't publish.

What it tells you over the radio

Position and gaps

RaceRoom publishes the position, gap and speed of rivals, but not their lap times.

Your laps and the coach

Your times and the corner where you lose time, with some limits detailed in the breakdown.

No spotter, for now

The sides haven't been checked on track yet, and a “car left” on the wrong side is worse than silence.

What this game doesn't publish

Tested on 13/10/2026: speed, gears, revs, laps, brakes and the grid. It publishes rivals’ position, gap and speed, but not their lap times, damage or weather. The spotter is not switched on because the sides have not been checked.

How to connect

  1. 1

Install SmoothOperator on the same Windows PC you race on.

  2. 2

Open RaceRoom Racing Experience with the app running. No plugins to install and no game settings to change: the app detects it automatically.

  3. 3

Go out on track. The engineer starts talking as soon as there is data.

Frequently asked questions

What doesn't RaceRoom publish?

Rivals' lap times, car damage and weather. The engineer says nothing about those.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Spanish and Catalan: the voice and the whole app. Each language has its own engineer voice, which runs on your PC without a connection.

Can I use it now?

Right now we are in private beta: we open seats in batches and let you know by email. Joining the waitlist is free; the plans we intend to offer are on the Pricing page.

Do I need an internet connection?

To download the voice pack the first time, yes. After that, the callouts play from clips stored on your PC, even offline. Talking to the AI does need a connection.
